Keeping Your Fridge Clean

At a minimum, we recommend cleaning your fridge every 12 months. This helps prevent your fridge from running constantly, which can lead to compressor or inverter failure.
Did you know that fridges or AC units don't actually cool? What they do is transfer energy.
The energy they transfer is heat. They absorb heat from inside the fridge and release it outside. However, if the condenser coils are clogged, it becomes more difficult to release the heat, limiting the ability to remove more heat. If not cleaned, heat builds up in the system, potentially damaging the compressor or the inverter that controls it.
Cleaning it yourself isn't difficult. Simply pull your fridge away from the wall, remove the cover at the bottom that protects the compressor area (see the pictures below), and use a leaf blower, shop vac, or air compressor to blow the area out. Move the blower around to ensure thorough cleaning. Be cautious with vacuums, as they can damage the coils by smashing the fins, preventing proper airflow for heat release.
If you're not comfortable doing this yourself or unable to, we offer this service for $90.
